How Do We Get Started?
Generally, once you have a design established including layout of mezzanines, rooms, stair location(s), exit travel distances, etc. we can take the plan from there and have our Structural Engineer generate construction plans for final material procurement.
Do We Need An Architect/Designer?
Yes, we will need a plan from the Architect/Designer in order to make sure egress requirements (life safety exiting of the space) meet current code requirements.
What Is The Lead-Time For My Mezzanine?
Once the space is enclosed (walls installed, doors in place), we can field measure and complete the shop drawings, and fabrication of steel components. Delivery can be expected in approximately 8 to 10 weeks.
Installation takes approximately 1-2 weeks.
What Is The Cost Of An Automotive Garage Mezzanine?
Mezzanine costs are currently projected to be between $100-120/SF for a one level structural steel mezzanine with plywood subfloor and 1 set of standard C-Channel stairs with metal railing.
Additional upgrades include concrete (in lieu of plywood) subfloor, multiple levels, center stringer stairs, glass or cable railings and custom details.
What Are The Components And Materials That Make Up An Automotive Garage Mezzanine?
Our mezzanines are constructed based on the needs of the garage owner.
We size the beams, columns and superstructure as needed to properly support the loads of the mezzanine.
The structure can be modified as needed for larger load items to be located on the mezzanine, i.e., automobiles, pool tables, appliances.
What Sub-floor Material Do You Recommend?
For Projects located in Florida, we recommend concrete subfloors (due to the heat and humidity).
Plywood subfloors can be used but will require more mechanical fastening. They will also need to be 100% climate controlled in order to maintain a warranty for the applied flooring materials.
What Are The Payment Terms?
We require 50% upon acceptance of our pricing, and 50% upon installation of the mezzanine.
